An Evening with Aaron Paul Lazar-3/29/09

Mystery writer Aaron Paul Lazar, author of Double Forte and Upstaged, will be speaking at the Bistro at 48 Union St., S, on Sunday, March 29, at 5pm as part of the Deana Irvin Author's Symposium. What is the Cabarrus County Public Library, Anyway?

The Cabarrus County Public Library serves Cabarrus County, North Carolina. It consists of 4 branches. The main branch, where I work, is the Concord Branch. Its picture is on the home page of this blog. It is located at 27 Union St., N, in historic downtown Concord, NC. Its hours of operation are 9 to 9 on Monday-Thursday, and 9-5 on Fridays and Saturdays. The number for the Concord Library is 704.920.2050.

There is also a branch in Kannapolis. It is located on 850 Mountain St., behind the Kannapolis YMCA (please don't sing the Village People's song YMCA. We're all friends here). It is open from 9-8 Monday-Thursday, and 9 to 5 on Fridays and Saturday. Their phone number is 704.920.1180. This is what the Kannapolis branch looks like:

The Mt. Pleasant Branch is found at 8556 Cook St. They are open from 10 to 6 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 10 to 8 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 10 to 2 on Saturday. Their phone number is 704.436.2202. For landmark purposes, it is near a funeral home, although the Mt. Pleasant branch certainly isn't dead! There is always something going on there!

Our newest branch is in the bustling not-so-little metropolis of Harrisburg. It is on 201 Sims Parkway, which is off of Hwy. 49. They are open from 10 to 8 on Mondays through Thursdays, 10-5 on Friday, and 10-2 on Saturday. Their phone number is 704.920.2080. It has been open since 2001 and is not a space odyssey.

Introduction

Greetings! My name is John Eury and this is the first blog in what I hope will be many for the Cabarrus County Public Library in Concord, NC. It serves as a class project for my technology class at East Carolina University's MLIS program. It also serves as a "beta version" for a blog for the Cabarrus County Public Library.
